    The Vermont Sesquicentennial (Bennington) Half Dollar was released in 1927 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Bennington.

    The obverse design features Ira Allen, founder of Vermont.

    The reverse features the figure of a catamount—alarge wild cat native to Vermont—and the date of the Battle of Bennington.
