    The Sesquicentennial of American Independence Half Dollar was released in 1926 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This coin marked the first time a U.S. President’s portrait appeared on a coin during his lifetime.

    The obverse design features profiles of Washington and Coolidge.

    The reverse features the Liberty Bell.
