    The Columbian Exposition Half Dollar was the first commemorative coin produced by the Mint. It was released in 1892 to commemorate the World Columbian Exposition in Chicago.

    The obverse design features Christopher Columbus in profile.

    The reverse features the Columbus flagship, the Santa Maria, and two globes
