1000 Kaiser marks of the 2nd Reich
Reichsbanknote 1910
There are booms that give collectors special tactile sensations – they are pleasant to take in your hands, at least in order to feel the texture of the paper.
Reichsbantnote 1910 with a face value of 1,000 marks just from such bon.The banknote was issued in Germany at a time when the country was still a monarchy, and German women did not realize that they would have to survive the horrors of the First World War and for a long time forget what a measured family life is according to the triune formulas of traditional German values - 3 K:
- Kinder, Küche, Kirche - children, cuisine, church;
- Kinder, Küche, Kleider - children, kitchen, dress;
- Kinder, Küche, Kaiser - children, kitchen, kaiser.
In 1910, the German mark in official sources was often called the 'gold mark': it was exchanged for gold in the ratio of 1 mark = 0.358423 grams of gold.
According to the catalogs, the banknote with a face value of 1,000 marks is called 'Brauner Tausender' (Brown Thousandth): it has been produced with minor design changes since 1884.
The changes concerned the seal of the Reichsbank directorate (Reichsbankdirektorium): in the issues of 1884 and 1891 on the bill there was one red seal on the left, on the issue of 1895 there were already 2 red seals, in 1910 the red seals were replaced by green seals.
For the printing of the “Brauner Tausender ' in 1910, paper with vertical embossing was used throughout the field. The paper itself does not have watermarks, but on the front side of the bill there are blue protective fibers localized on the left.
'Brauner Tausender' has a 2-letter numbering.
The first letter is printed in gold letters to the right of the right seal in continuation of the abbreviation RBD (Reichsbankdirektorium) – on this bill it is the letter 'N'.
The second letter is printed after the serial number 3035767 in red - on this bill it is the letter 'H'.
The reverse side of the bill is decorated with two allegorical women of Nordic appearance, symbolizing navigation and abundance, on either side of the national coat of arms of Kaiser Germany.
In November, July 5, 1925, the 'brown thousandth' was withdrawn from circulation-already during the Weimar Republic.
And the bill, when you take it in your hands after 110 years, pleases you with the feeling of a pleasant roughness of paper with vertical embossing: the money was German even under the Kaiser - and even before the Kaiser! - they knew how to do it.
